ANL Eucy Mulch is a fine, light tan eucalyptus mulch that gives garden beds a natural, bush-floor look. It's easy to spread, long lasting, and helps keep moisture in and weeds down through Canberra's hot, dry summers, while insulating roots over frosty winters. A natural fit for native gardens and general landscaping.
Size: 60L bag. One bag covers about 1m² at 50mm deep
Suitable for: Native gardens, garden beds, shrubs, hedges and around trees
Benefits: Suppresses weeds, retains soil moisture, evens out soil temperature and gives a neat natural finish
Application: Water beds first, then spread 50 to 75mm deep, keeping mulch a few centimetres clear of plant stems and trunks. Like most woody mulches it can stain concrete, so sweep paths after spreading
ANL Cow Manure is a composted, ready-to-use cow manure that gently feeds plants while building healthier soil. It adds organic matter, encourages earthworms and helps sandy or clay soils hold moisture and nutrients, so it's a classic choice for prepping beds and feeding veggies, roses and hedges through the Canberra growing season.
Size: 25L bag
Suitable for: Vegetable gardens, roses, shrubs, hedges, lawns and new garden beds
Benefits: Natural slow-release nutrients, improves soil structure, encourages worm activity and helps retain moisture
Application: Dig through soil before planting, or spread a thin layer around established plants and water in well, keeping it off stems and trunks
Richgro All Purpose Mushroom Compost is an organic soil improver made from recycled mushroom-farming materials. Dig it through tired or clay-heavy Canberra soil before planting to add organic matter and help it hold water, or spread it on top as a nutrient-rich mulch. A great all-rounder for new garden beds, veggie patches and flower borders.
Size: 25L bag
Suitable for: Garden beds, vegetable gardens, flowers, shrubs and new plantings
Benefits: Adds organic matter, improves soil structure, helps soil hold moisture, and doubles as a mulch
Application: Mix through the top 10 to 15cm of soil before planting, or spread 25 to 50mm deep over beds as a mulch, keeping it clear of stems
Richgro Natural Pinebark Mulch is a screened and graded pine bark mulch that gives garden beds and pots a neat, natural finish. It reduces weed growth, helps the soil hold moisture and evens out soil temperature, protecting roots through Canberra's hot summers and frosty winters. Australian made, and a top-up at the start of spring keeps beds looking fresh all year.
Size: 50L bag. One bag covers about 1m² at 50mm deep (new beds), 0.7m² at 75mm deep, or 2m² as a 25mm top-up
Suitable for: Garden beds, vegetable gardens, shrubs, natives and pots
Benefits: Suppresses weeds, retains soil moisture, regulates soil temperature, and is Smart Drop certified for water saving
Application: Water beds first, then spread mulch 50 to 75mm deep, keeping it a few centimetres clear of plant stems and trunks

Features: Reinforced, padded palm, anti-abrasion, knuckle protection, tapered fingers and an adjustable Velcro wrist
Ideal for: Pruning, digging, planting, mulching, landscaping and general garden work
A premium potting mix specially made for citrus and fruit trees in pots, with Scotts Osmocote controlled-release fertiliser already mixed in to feed your tree for up to 9 months, so you just add water. Ideal for citrus, stone fruit, olives and other fruiting trees.

Contains: Scotts Osmocote controlled-release fertiliser (feeds for up to 9 months), wetting agent, added magnesium and potassium, and growth stimulants for strong root development
Application: Use straight from the bag when potting or planting. Water in well
Note: Meets the Australian Standard for premium potting mix. Not for phosphorus-sensitive plants such as many natives
A concentrated, fast-acting fertiliser that gives citrus and fruit trees what they need for lush leaves and a bigger, better-quality crop. Its high potash formula supports flowering and fruit set, with added iron and trace elements to keep foliage a healthy deep green, and nutrients released gradually over about two months. A great go-to for lemons, limes and fruit trees in Canberra gardens and pots.
Size: 2.5kg bag (feeds about 50m²)
Suitable for: Lemons, limes and other citrus, plus apples, pears, stone fruit and other fruiting trees
Contains: Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (NPK 12:1:8), iron, trace elements and a soil wetter
Application: Moisten the soil, sprinkle evenly around the root zone (not on the leaves), then water in well. Repeat every 6 to 8 weeks through the growing season
Note: Use half rate on young or newly planted trees. Follow the label for exact amounts
What to use and when
Planting into clay
Canberra's heavy clay drains poorly. Dig Richgro gypsum clay breaker into the soil before planting to break it up and improve drainage.
At planting time
Water new plants in with Seasol to reduce transplant shock and help roots establish.
Feeding through the year
Use Osmocote all purpose for most plants, or Osmocote Native for natives, once or twice a year. Dynamic Lifter and PowerFeed are good for a quick boost in spring.
Pots and planters
Use a premium potting mix rather than garden soil, which compacts in pots. Use a native potting mix for natives.
Garden supply questions
Why a native fertiliser?
Many natives dislike the high phosphorus in general-purpose feeds, so a native blend is safer for grevillea, banksia and bottlebrush.
Can I add supplies to my plant order?
Yes. Supplies are delivered with your plants, and they count towards free delivery on orders over $100.

Whoflungdung from Neutrog is a certified organic "super mulch" that does double duty: it covers the soil like a regular mulch and feeds it at the same time. It's composted, weed free and biologically activated, so it adds beneficial microbes and nutrients as it breaks down, giving roses, natives, shrubs and veggies a healthier root zone. Its mix of fine and chunkier material forms a dense mat that holds moisture and keeps weeds down.
Size: 20kg compressed bale. Covers about 3m² as a new layer or 6m² as a top-up
Suitable for: Garden beds, roses, natives, shrubs, hedges, fruit trees and vegetable gardens
Benefits: Certified organic, weed free, nutrient rich, holds moisture and builds soil life
Application: Break up the bale and spread an even layer 25 to 50mm deep, leaving a 50 to 100mm gap around the base of plants, then water in
