Canberra Online Nursery (ABN 37 358 737 581) ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Information we collect

  • Order details: your name, email address, phone number, and delivery and billing addresses, plus the products you buy.
  • Payment information: payments are processed securely by our payment providers through Squarespace. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Messages: anything you send us by email, phone, our contact form or social media.
  • Newsletter sign-ups: your email address, if you choose to subscribe.
  • Website usage: pages you visit, items you add to your cart, your device and browser type, and general location (city level). This is collected with cookies and similar technologies (see below).

How we use your information

  • to process, deliver and support your orders, including contacting you about delivery
  • to answer your questions and handle refunds or replacements
  • to send newsletters and offers, only if you've opted in
  • to understand how our website is used so we can improve it
  • to measure and improve our advertising
  • to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations

Cookies, analytics and advertising

Our website uses cookies and similar tools from these services:

  • Squarespace, our website and online store platform, for the shopping cart, checkout and site security.
  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the site.
  • Google Ads, to measure how our ads perform and to show relevant ads on Google.
  • Microsoft Clarity, which records anonymised page interactions (clicks and scrolling) to help us find and fix usability problems. Clarity masks text you type into forms.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site, such as the cart, may not work without them. You can opt out of personalised Google ads at adssettings.google.com and out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your personal information. We only share it with:

  • service providers who help run our business, such as Squarespace, our payment processors, Google and Microsoft, and only as needed to provide their services
  • government or law enforcement bodies when required by law

We deliver orders ourselves, so your address isn't passed on to a third-party courier.

Some of these providers store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. Each has its own privacy and security commitments.

Marketing emails

We only send marketing emails if you've subscribed or agreed at checkout. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or you can ask us to remove you at any time.

Keeping your information safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Our store runs on Squarespace's secure (HTTPS) platform. We keep order records only for as long as we need them for business, tax and legal purposes.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us using the details below. We'll respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, please contact us first and we'll do our best to resolve it. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
