Callistemon 'Candy Burst' (Medium 200mm pot)

$30.00

Candy Burst is a semi-compact native bottlebrush that covers itself in dark candy-pink brushes every spring. Its fine foliage keeps it soft and full, and the flowers bring native birds and bees into the garden. Tough and low-fuss, it copes with Canberra's frosts and dry summers once established.

  • Mature size: Approx. 1-1.2m H x 1-1.2m W
  • Foliage: Fine, mid-green, evergreen with bronze new growth
  • Flowers: Dark pink bottlebrush blooms, spring
  • Growth habit: Semi-compact, dense and rounded
  • Position: Full sun to part shade
  • Climate: Frost hardy, drought tolerant once established
  • Water needs: Regular water for the first few months; drought tolerant once established
  • Soil: Copes with most soils, including heavier clay. Dig in gypsum clay breaker to help drainage. In pots, use Native Osmocote Potting Mix.
  • Feeding: Osmocote Native in spring, or Neutrog Bush Tucker as a liquid feed. Seasol at planting helps it settle in.
  • Maintenance: Low; light prune after flowering for a bushier shape
  • Ideal for: Low hedging, feature planting, mass planting, large pots, bird-friendly gardens
