Callistemon 'Icy Burst' (Small 140mm pot)

$18.00

A slim, upright bottlebrush from the Burst range, Icy Burst lights up in spring with bright white bottlebrush flowers set against dark green foliage. Its new growth emerges a pale, icy white, giving it a frosted look for much of the year. Hardy and low maintenance, it copes well with Canberra's frosts and dry spells once established.

  • Mature size: approx. 1.3–1.5m high, 70–80cm wide

  • Foliage: dark green, evergreen, with icy-white new growth

  • Flowers: white bottlebrushes in spring, often into summer

  • Growth habit: narrow, upright and dense

  • Position: full sun to part shade; most soil types

  • Climate: frost and drought tolerant once established

  • Water needs: moderate; water regularly until established

  • Soil: Copes with most soils, including heavier clay. Dig in gypsum clay breaker to help drainage. In pots, use Native Osmocote Potting Mix.

  • Feeding: Osmocote Native in spring, or Neutrog Bush Tucker as a liquid feed. Seasol at planting helps it settle in.

  • Maintenance: low; light prune every 2–3 years, or every 2 years for a tidy hedge

  • Ideal for: narrow screens and hedges (plant about 60cm apart), borders, large pots, bird and bee-attracting gardens
