Callistemon 'Wilderness White' (Small 140mm pot)

$18.50

Wilderness White is a graceful weeping bottlebrush covered in large, creamy-white brushes in spring, often with a second flush in autumn. The soft white flowers stand out beautifully against the fresh green foliage and still bring in the honeyeaters and bees. It makes an elegant screen or feature shrub and is tough and low-fuss once established in a sunny Canberra garden.

  • Mature size: approx. 2.5-3m x 2m
  • Foliage: narrow, fresh green leaves on gently weeping branches
  • Flowers: large white bottlebrushes in spring, often again in autumn
  • Growth habit: upright with a soft, weeping form
  • Position: full sun to part shade
  • Climate: drought tolerant once established; handles light to moderate frost
  • Water needs: low once established; water young plants through dry spells
  • Soil: Copes with most soils, including heavier clay. Dig in gypsum clay breaker to help drainage. In pots, use Native Osmocote Potting Mix.
  • Feeding: Osmocote Native in spring, or Neutrog Bush Tucker as a liquid feed. Seasol at planting helps it settle in.
  • Maintenance: prune lightly after flowering to keep it dense
  • Ideal for: screens, informal hedges, feature planting and native gardens
