Erigeron 'Seaside Daisy' (Small 140mm pot)

$16.80

A tough little charmer, Seaside Daisy forms a soft, spreading mound of fine green foliage smothered in tiny daisies that open white and blush to pink as they age, giving a pretty two-tone look. It flowers almost non-stop from spring right through to late autumn and asks for very little in return. Once established it shrugs off Canberra's hot, dry summers, and while hard frosts can knock the foliage back, it bounces back with fresh growth in spring.

  • Mature size: 20–40cm tall x 50cm–1m wide

  • Foliage: Fine, small green leaves on wiry stems; evergreen in mild winters

  • Flowers: Masses of small white daisies with yellow centres, ageing to pink, from spring to late autumn

  • Growth habit: Low, mounding and spreading; gently cascades over edges; self-seeds

  • Position: Full sun to part shade

  • Climate: Drought tolerant once established; tolerates moderate frost (foliage may die back in heavy frosts, regrows in spring)

  • Water needs: Low once established; water regularly until settled in

  • Soil: Well-drained soil improved with compost. Break up heavy Canberra clay with gypsum clay breaker. In pots, use Osmocote Premium Potting Mix.

  • Feeding: Osmocote All Purpose in spring, or Yates Dynamic Lifter for an organic feed. Seasol at planting and through summer helps with heat stress.

  • Maintenance: Very low; give it a light trim if it gets leggy or flowering slows to encourage a fresh flush

  • Ideal for: Ground cover, border edging, rockeries, spilling over walls and steps, between pavers, pots and hanging baskets, and cottage gardens. A great pick for attracting bees and butterflies
