Leptospermum 'Kiwi' Dwarf Tea Tree (Small 140mm pot)

$21.00

Kiwi is a neat, dwarf tea tree with fine bronze-purple new growth that keeps it colourful all year. In late spring it is studded with masses of small crimson-pink flowers that bees love. Tough and low-fuss, it copes with Canberra frosts and dry spells once established, and suits pots as well as garden beds.

  • Mature size: Approx. 0.5-1m H x 1m W
  • Foliage: Fine, bronze-tinged, evergreen with burgundy new growth
  • Flowers: Small crimson-pink flowers, late spring into early summer
  • Growth habit: Dwarf, compact and bushy
  • Position: Full sun to part shade
  • Climate: Frost hardy, drought tolerant once established
  • Water needs: Low; regular water while establishing
  • Soil: Well-drained soil. On heavy Canberra clay, dig in gypsum clay breaker before planting. In pots, use Native Osmocote Potting Mix.
  • Feeding: Osmocote Native in spring, or Neutrog Bush Tucker as a liquid feed. Seasol at planting helps it settle in.
  • Maintenance: Low; light trim after flowering keeps it dense
  • Ideal for: Pots, borders, rockeries, low hedging, coastal and courtyard gardens
